Psychologist Thomas M. Wolfe, Ph.D. is the founder and CEO of DayCarePro.com. He completed his doctoral training in at Utah State University in 1999. His areas of focus include: (a) child, adolescent, and family clinical psychology, (b) psychometrics and research evaluation, and (c) school psychology. Dr. Wolfe has spent the past eight years working in South Central Minnesota as a school psychologist, and as an entrepreneur developing Internet-based assessment tools and behavioral resources for parents, teachers, childcare providers, and others with a vested interest in helping children.
Dr. Wolfe's inspiration for developing DayCarePro.com came from his wife of 15 years. Mrs. Wolfe has provided childcare services since 1998. Her career began as a home-based childcare provider, and eventually transitioned to center-based childcare. Through spending countless hours with his wife in childcare settings, and by helping his wife through daily childcare-related issues and problems, Dr. Wolfe has developed a deep understanding of: (a) what it is like to be a childcare provider, (b) the types of challenges childcare providers face every day, (c) the tools childcare providers need to help the children they care for, and (d) the kind of help home childcare providers need on a day to day basis as they run their business.
Home childcare providers face many daily challenges, such as managing children with behavioral problems, difficulty collecting payment from parents, having children getting picked up late or dropped off early, as well as wear and tear on their homes, just to name a few. Perhaps the biggest problem is that home childcare providers generally work alone. Making matters worse, there are few resources available designed just for helping home childcare providers with their jobs. Other professions in our society have unique tools developed to help them do their jobs. Why shouldn't home childcare providers have such tools?
Home childcare providers deserve to have professional tools developed just for them, to help them during their hectic and often unpredictable days. After all, home childcare providers perform an extremely important role in our society. Who would take care of our children if there were no home childcare providers? To lend a helping hand, Dr. Wolfe developed DayCarePro.com. Using his 15 years of experience working with childcare providers, children, families, teachers, and developing Internet-based tools, Dr. Wolfe developed DayCarePro.com just for home childcare providers. He hopes they love it!
